A firefighter has died after tackling a huge blaze in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre.
Stephen Hunt, 38, based at Philips Park was one of 60 firefighters who battled a blaze at Paul's Hair World.
It started shortly before 3pm yesterday.
Two teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with blaze which claimed life of firefighter Stephen Hunt

Fire Officer Steve McGuirk said: "We are devastated by the death of one
of our colleagues who has died in the line of duty.
"We
never expect to lose a colleague in this way and it brings home the
dangers that our firefighters put themselves in every day to keep the
community safe.

night and are understandably tired.

GMFRS just confirmed that eight fire crews remain in Manchester city centre on Oldham Street.
The
fire is still smouldering but crews have brought it under control and
two aerial platforms, jets and ground monitors are being used to get
plenty of water onto the building.
Parts of Tib Street and Oldham Street are closed off and roads in the area remain closed.
