Audi plans eco-friendly ultra line A3 models

The German based automaker Audi has recently announced its plans to offer a variety of eco-friendly “ultra” models of the new A3 generation, which have lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

According to the car manufacturer, the first model to be unveiled will be the Audi A3 1.6 TDI. The vehicle in question has been described as the brand’s most fuel efficient production model and it’s available with either three doors or five doors, getting a 15mm reduced ride height, S line side skirts, low-rolling resistance tires covering the 16-inch wheels and a longer final drive ratio, amongst others.
The Audi A3 in question is powered by a 1.6 liter TDI diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 110 HP (81 kW), which is enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). Audi says that the 1,205 kg (2,656 lb) hatchback is burning an average of 3.2 L every 100 km (88.27 mpg UK / 73.50 mpg US) and it’s emitting just 85 g/km of CO2. Prices for the model will start at 25,200 EUR and it will go on sale in September, in its home land.
