Hyundai i10 price and release date revealed

hyundai i10 city car 2014 front
The new Hyundai i10 city car has been revealed, and will cost from £8,500 when it launches in January 2014. That's £150 more than the current i10, but the new car offers more space and more equipment than the old model.
The 2014 Hyundai i10 is longer, wider and lower than the model it replaces, which means it has more legroom and now has a slightly bigger boot than the Skoda Citigo, CarBuyer's pick as the Best City Car 2013. The new i10's boot is 252 litres with the rear seats up, which is 27 litres more than the old model and one litre more than the Skoda Citigo, SEAT Mii and Volkswagen up! city cars.
Hyundai will improve on the equipment offered in the current i10, with automatic climate control, a heated leather steering wheel cruise control and keyless entry all available. Safety technology includes six airbags, electronic stability control and a system that keeps track of your tyres in case they lose pressure.
The engines available on the new Hyundai i10 will be the same as the old model, though the power and emissions figures are likely to change slightly. The new i10 should be very efficient, however, with the 1.0-litre petrol engines emitting under 100g/km CO2. This engine is will offer free road tax, while a more powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine will also be available.
Hyundai says the new i10 will be better to drive than the old car, and be less noisy for people inside the car, too. The interior will feature plenty of storage cubbies and classier-looking materials for the dashboard. The company also promises a better ride thanks to upgraded suspension.
The new Hyundai i10 will be shown for the first time in full at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and will launch in the UK in January 2014.
